Explore the Wild: Discover the Beauty of the Botswana
Welcome to Eagle Island Lodge, a remarkable Belmond Safari in Botswana, offering the epitome of water-based safari experiences in the mesmerizing Okavango Delta.
With a rich heritage as one of Botswana’s original safari lodges, Eagle Island Lodge stands proudly on its own private island, enveloped by the tranquil embrace of the Okavango Delta’s expansive and enchanting waterways.
Immerse yourself in the wonders of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the delta’s deep stretches beckon exploration and awe-inspiring encounters. Prepare to embark on an extraordinary journey of discovery and immerse yourself in the essence of the Okavango Delta’s magnificent water-based adventures at Eagle Island Lodge.
The lodge is decorated to reflect an explorer’s base. Design highlights in the twelve spacious deluxe tented rooms include oversized beds with views of the delta, large outdoor decks with a vista, private plunge pools, luxurious bathrooms with large tubs, indoor & outdoor showers, a relaxation and reading nook, and walk-in wardrobes.
Fully rebuilt public areas include a stylish dining area with a pizza oven, a lounge area with an artisan-style bar, a library, a separate campfire area and the Fish Eagle Bar which is located directly on the water. Local artisans and materials were used throughout the renovations.
The lodge offers a variety of essentially water-focused safari activities including motorboat safaris, barge cruises, mokoro safaris (a local canoe), fishing, as well as walking safaris and the ultimate air safari experience by helicopter – a highlight of any guests’ stay!
There is an abundance of bird and aquatic wildlife around the lodge, complemented by larger mammals such as elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, as well as the ever elusive big cats that have made this island their home.
Each of the lodge’s 12 rooms are 82 square meters in size and boasts its own plunge pool and outdoor deck. Offering contemporary luxury, every detail has been carefully thought-out.
The centerpiece is an over-sized bed with views onto the Delta. Each room features a luxurious bathroom with a large bathtub, double vanity unit and a walk-in wardrobe, as well as a walled outdoor shower with a window looking onto the Delta.
This traditional dugout canoe takes you gliding over shallow, clear waters past brilliant water lilies and papyrus grasses to areas inaccessible by boat.
